About MattMusician, teacher, and producer, Matt Brown, is at home in a number of musical styles. He has a remarkable ability to inhabit each genre that he plays, while always maintaining his spontaneity and verve. He is nationally recognized as a virtuosic performer and an authority on traditional music, including the old-time music of the Appalachian south. He is an innovative fiddler, an intricate banjo player, a propulsive guitar player, and a moving singer. He is an engaging and compassionate teacher and clinician who relishes the opportunity to work with musicians of all ages. He has produced and played on a number of critically- acclaimed recordings, and is an active composer. Matt is a partner in 5-String Productions, an independent record label specializing in acoustic music. He was featured on the cover of the Spring 2010 issue of Fiddler Magazine.
